I loved him in Rushmore, I loved him in Shopgirl, and what about that great performance in CQ? The guy is an allstar, and before he was made famous by being in films he was the drummer and piano player at times for the band Phantom Planet. He now is the singer & songwriter for a projected called Coconuts Records. The new cd entitled “Nighttiming” is a great indie release. The first song entitled “West Coast” is so catchy and so embracing that you will be wanting to listen to the song over and over again. I have fallen for this song on many levels and am caught walking around singing about how much I miss Culver City, Ca. and how much I miss my sister Grace and my mom. I still live on the west coast, but it is not the same. Jason Schwartzman is a great indie writer and is easily compared to many others in the genre, with just this release. Coconut Records is the name of the project, and you can not buy it in stores. You can only buy it online. I went ahead and bought it online through itunes and am amazed by the quality and great overall hooks. Jason is amazing, and elaborate in his writing. I’m an instant fan.
Check out the first video for his song “West Coast” here:
It features the Gonz! This is a great video, and a great catchy song. Friends, I ask you to watch and listen, and if you want more information, or want to by the records visit the link here
