Stupidity, Bananas, and Vanity

I am learning to shut up these days. Yes, I talk way too much for my own good and am no longer looking too wise. I sit in my chair and I speak about things that I know about. When I do not know about something I shut up.

I find it funny that people talk about comic book movies in a negative sense, yet they themselves have ignored the many pitfalls of comic books in general. For instance they should read Chris’s Invincible Super-BLog and see how stupid things are in the world of comic books. For instance, Batman & Superman went back in time to meet Benjamin Franklin! Don’t believe me? I wrote about Batman Getting Burned in the 18th century colonies, which is dumb to say the least. No one mentions that. But they are so quick to judge how bad a comic book movie is, when they don’t read comics to begin with! This is so stupid.

Ok, so the world of comic book movies aren’t the best filmed movies in the world. But I don’t believe that anyone can say that the comics were any better at certain points. I mean the 60’s Batman Comics were so camp it made me laugh so hard each time my parents would get me an old comic as a kid. (I’m not that old, but they would find random stuff in the garage to give me, and there was a lot of old comics)

My other pet peeve as of late is the fact that people assume that they know all about a certain actor because they had a breakthrough role in a famous film. Case in point: Daniel Craig. It appears that no one saw Layer Cake, because if they did, they would know that the new bond didn’t come out of the blue. No one even referenced the guy from The Punisher, nope…that was my job. But when I spoke up, the pins were heard dropping in the background.

Suffice to say that I do not expect everyone to know everything about comics and movies, but I would like to stop hearing people complain so much about something they have nothing to do with whatsoever. Then again, I am an idiot sometimes, because I do that all the time on my dvd review blog.

Furthermore, people still don’t seem to trust my expert opinion on things. So now I’m just shutting the doors. I’m listening to my own cluttered thoughts, and arguments instead of trying to dumb myself down to the level of my surroundings. I’m used to it though.

In another vain attempt to make myself look good, I’m trying to save up some cash in order to purchase these shoes….:

I know that’s weird. White boots for a kid that usually only wears all Black clothing. Yeah, I’m going to shake things up for sure this time. It should be nice…but that means I have to stick to a budget. Feel free to leave comments on my stupid vanity. My current shoes are vans skateboard shoes, but they have holes in the inner parts and causing my left foot some problems. Oh well.

I was not that tired today, well at least not after I got some major caffeine into my system. It was great to get it. I guess I’m an addict….coffee is king here, might as well enjoy it huh? Plus for me it’s free! Yep…free Coffee for Jorge. Finally some more free stuff!

OH and did I mention that I got two free tickets to see the new fantastic four 2 movie? Oh yeah…I’m on a roll.

It is definitely nice to see that someone other than myself is checking out the Preacher Graphic Novel. Check out this cool little review, then click HERE to check out the book in my online store.

It was shown to me something that I never really asked. The question that I got out of it all was “Where Do My Banana’s Come From?” With that simple question I received a plethora of information about a company that I used to buy from. Chiquita has been on the forefront of several controversial and out right bad business doings, so much so that I was shocked and appalled at the information that I read about the situation. Military action mixed with bad intentions, has caused immigration to spike from the south of the U.S border, and to stop such migrations one must question the business practices of big companies in these cities. Immigration Orange has a great article on Chiquita and the turmoil in regards to actions that they have admitted to. We’re not talking about minor infractions, we’re talking about severe actions that need attention, and not to discredit the work that is being made in regards to awareness for Africa, but it seems that Latin America is ignored. Well now it’s time to consider looking at something other than the main stream media.

Wow, are these shoes Dc Martens ? They were really popular when I was in high school, I had two pairs of purple ones…

It’s a good buy, they last forever. I still have then one I bought when I was 12, and I can still fit them (unlike my jeans ;-)

You will have to be ridiculously diligent about keeping those shoes clean or it will ruin their entire vibe.

I want to add my voice to those encouraging you to go for the docs. I used to wear only docs and they are great. They do last forever and as far as wear, well the white may be a problem but the leather itself will last a long time. Just get that nurse polish and they will stay white a long time.

sirjorge, I stopped by tonight to see if you had responded to my last post… what I really want to know is if you got the white docs or if you caved at the last moment and went for the comfortable black? And how do you like them? I love Docs. I am in a place in my life where I spend most of my time in beach wear so docs might not work for me most of the time but if I had a place to wear them I would be right behind you at the store but I would be in black.
