The Cinco Best (Mejores)

This week was definitely an interesting one. With most of the country taking the 4th off, I still managed to work hard and try to make sure that my families financial security was in tact. I know it’s a bit odd to work on the 4th for some, but the bills don’t roll over and die because the nation’s on holiday. I know it’s a hard way to smash it together, but it’s the truth.

So what now?

The top 5 posts of this week were difficult to manage. There was so much good stuff spilling over from all over the blogging world, but I had to pick 5 and I had to be honest so here goes nothing….

#5 The Simple Dollar is one of my favorite blogs, and they had a great post that hit home with me. The post was about brown bagging your lunch. I have a hard time leaving my desk, but when it comes to food, I’ll jump out of the cubicle to grub. However, there is a simple economic reason to just make lunches. Well, I’ve been working towards using my money to well…fund my collection of skateboards (as stated in recent posts about skateboards). The Simple Dollar makes cents…(had to do it)

#4 Pointless Banter had one heck of a post about selling out and payperpost. Well, I left my 2 cents in regards to the fact that I’ve yet to blog about something that I loved with them. Pointless Banter is a cool blog.

#3 Chris Benoit’s death had so much coverage that it overshadowed most, if not all, of the wrestling news and notes that people would normally be talking about. Even my WWE blog wasn’t safe from the Chris Benoit news story. However, everyone was quick to throw the guy’s career in the gutter and even WWE removed their allegiance and tributes to the guy. But in a great post Pandora’s Chest revealed one amazing post about how you don’t throw away the baby with the bathwater over the end of a personal life. I enjoyed it so much, that it made my top 5 of the week!

#2 Two Write Hands had an interesting note on internships. The end of one, the start of the jobhunt. The thing that I hated most about my school was their constantly forcing me to decide whether or not to intern. I foiled their plans of forcing me to work for free by taking an extra class that wasn’t in my major. The post struck a heart string with me because I avoided the internship process, and am thankful. The post is cool though, and interesting since I’m still fairly new in the real world outside of the college experience.

#1 Is it the girl with the glasses that captures my attention on Emo Crap? No! Well kind of, she’s cute…but I read the rss feed to avoid any stolen glances…but this week there was a post about the bloggers favorite NES 8-bit Games which is just marvelous. I love the 8 bit world and felt that this post was #1 this week for connection some of my personal favorite games with the writing and nostalgia that comes from true NES gamers. Heck, I even posted something over on my comic book blog about on of my personal favorite nintendo games.

Wow, thanks for the compliment! You’re very luck you didn’t have to intern. If I could’ve found a way around it, I would have too! :)
