The Big 5

The top five this week was looking really bad. I couldn’t find anyone doing anything good and posting anything I really liked mentioning in the first couple of days. Then the blog world exploded in my direction and sent some quality posts Wednesday through Friday and even this morning. However, the five have already been selected and the blog of the week is finalized, as I write today…on a nice and breezy Saturday.

#5 Our Latin America: posted a major story about HIV and the latin American countries as there seems to be a spike in HIV and returning immigrants. This seems to be something that I haven’t heard in the American media, which seems to be saturated with news on the war in Iraq and Bush. I don’t believe that qualifies for the 10 minute world news report on the local news.

#4 Pick The Brain: had a great article on saving money and prosperity from the guy that is on the money. Benjamin Franklin’s money saving tips are highlighted in this great article from pick the brain. I’m glad I subscribed to that blog. Question is, are they relevant today? You’ll have to click and find out.

#3 Not Martha is making a Sweater. I thought it was cool that she included this awesome picture, and apparently she’s finishing her first ball of yarn. I guess this might skip a lot of people out there, but I still say that I want to learn to sew.

#2 Fun Forever: posted some artwork from the mind of Audrey Kawasaki and wow. I was so impressed that I saved it and posted iit at #2! Don’t believe me or are skeptical, here’s a piece of what you’re in for when you check out more information via the link.

#1 Latina Lista: Posted an article about a dawning of a new political beginning for latino’s and I tend to agree with the notion. I have been awakened recently in the political aspects due to much talk on immigration and other key notes that involve my family and my father especially. He is in between citizenship and just received his residency. The whole article is an interesting read and something that everyone should read.

Blog of the Week: I remember the Atari systems quite well as I was a latchkey kid with every video game imaginable. Lazy Eye Theatre is a blog that features some weird ways of reviewing movies, talking about film, and other random things. In an awesome post recently he posted about movie games on the Atari…that were never made! Lazy Eye Theatre is one of my favorite reads in my rss, and I sprinkle a comment every now and again.
