I’ve never been good at job interviews. I usually don’t know what the person behind the desk wants to hear. So I usually rely on short answers and generalizations to get me through to the person.
Today the roles were reversed. I had an interview with a new photographer and it involved asking some questions and testing the waters to see if the person had what it takes to get things done in the web department. The interview went well, and it was quite nice, but it just wasn’t fun. I thought it would be great to answer certain questions and interview, but it just didn’t seem to work out that well.
The overall tone was ok, and in the end we decided to go with the person, but it took a lot out of my busy day.
I’m not a good fit for HR, but it worked out ok.

That must have been fun. I’d love to interview someone but I never got a chance to do so. Not sure if I could reject anyone though… I myself sat on interviews many times and hated when I was rejected for no reason.
When I was running a c-store, I SO hated running interviews. If I found someone great for the job, I hated to hire them knowing they’d get something better within a week and be gone just as they’d gotten broken in on the job. But hiring someone who wasn’t so great meant a lot more work training and still possibly not having competent help anyhow.
