There was no professional skateboarder bigger or badder in my view than Chad Muska. When I was in 9th and 10th grade I went through 4 Chad Muska decks. There was a persona that I couldn’t really put a finger on and that fed my friends and I into wanting to skate like “the muska”. I don’t even know why.

Fast forward to the present, and I don’t find him the same regard as I used to. I just don’t think he’s a good role model or anything like that. He was in town and was a part of a skateboarding event that my company put on. He’s still a great skateboarder, but he’s not as “big” as I once thought.

I figure this happens to all stars that we admire. You grow up and you realize that they aren’t as great as they used to be.
