I will be moving 5 miles north from where I am now. The manager here is raising our rent, and they won’t let us resign a lease at the existing rate, so we are moving north, away from the Downtown Seattle area. We are going to save about 200 dollars a month living over there.
The only downside is it’s farther, on a huge hill, and I have to walk a LONG way to get to work. 5 miles to be exact.
On one end it’s going to be awesome for me to get some exercise, but as of yesterday….it’s the beginning of the Rainy season.
I hear that there is only two major seasons here in Seattle…Winter & August.
Moreover, I’m told that it’s going to Rain for a very long time here…and walking in the rain is going to be bad…
But not as bad as walking barefoot in snow, uphill both ways….odd…..I can’t wait to tell my kids the exaggerations of having to walk to work.
I could drive…in theory…but hey…then I couldn’t tell the hippies to stop driving their cars if they care so much about the environment.
That’s always a good starting point to argue with them.

you know it totally drive me crazy how there’s so many people out there that say that they want to help out by being green.
yet they still drive their cars to work even though its roughly 15-20 miles away.
i work about 20 miles away from my house and i at least take the bus in the morning and take my bike for the ride home.
i spend about $25 a month on bus fares vs paying $45 to fill up my car every week and half which comes out to roughly $165.
so not only am i helping out by riding the bus that runs off of CNG, i’m also saving about $140 a month.
now who’s the one that helping out. me or you.

My blog design is driving me crazy. I’m desperate to have a clickable header and to fix my sidebars to an acceptable screen resolution but I can’t get help anywhere. How many hours am I gonna spend on that again ???

My boyfriend just made a move but in the opposite direction, cutting his time to work from a half-hour drive to a 20 minute bike ride.
It’s a nice way to tell the oil companies to suck your…um, never mind, I think you get the point.

and why is it bad to be friends with your boss? what lines get crossed that are so sacred?
I’ve been there…and when the chips are down…I get fired…let go…laid off…and am disposable.
Otherwise I will become one who slacks off for months at a time and then am not reprimanded.
