I’ve decided to just stop buying anything. That’s right, I have all I need, so I’m going to cease to spend on anything. I don’t want to do anything but pay bills and just keep whatever chump change I have. How long can I last without buying anything for myself?
That includes extra food that I might think that I need. I’m going to try and do this and see how long I last, see how much money I can save. I’ll continue to earn money, and pay the bills and load up the car with gas, but as for extras that I don’t need, I’m going to try and cease to spend.
My goal is to have a ton of money for the end of the year and blow it all. Yeah, the end result is for spending, but not without some major sacrifices. For instance, I want some new shirts, I don’t need new shirts, so I’m going to create a need based on my own ideas.
What ideas are those?
Well….
I have t-shirts that I’ve been wearing since High School. Yep, they are pretty old, so I’m going to give them away to goodwill, therefore creating a need for new shirts. But I’m not going to buy anything until I get rid of those.
But I’m not going to move forward on that idea until after I save up the initial no spending money.
I know this is all confusing, but I was thinking about this today, and I really want to see how far I can go without spending on extra things that I either don’t use, or don’t need. It’s all a matter of questioning my motives, and understanding the world around me.
I’ll see how long I can go without buying anything extra.

I feel that–seems like no sooner do I get back from a shopping run that I’m already making the next shopping list.
I wish I could save more money too… I don’t spend that much but little things add up : cafés, food, a few clothes (although I don’t buy much clothes for a woman…!), books…
Oh well.
