Counter Jockey Days

It’s times like today, Monday, that I wish I was working at the video store. I don’t like sitting at a desk when it’s cold. The counter was really nice because our store front was hit by the sun for 4 hours a day, and it was a great thing when you felt cold, because by waiting a few hours you were warm. The only downside was in the summer it was super hot, and the owner didn’t like us to turn on the a/c because it would have to run a lot for it to get coo. Instead he would just let us run the fans a lot, they didn’t help.

These days I’m facing the opposite. So Cal is experiencing some nice weather, while the Seattle area is colder than I am used to. Today’s high is 47 and I’m really chilly. My crew and I are in a warehouse, as shown previously, and while it is a cool non-corporate place to work, it is deathly cold. I’m recovering from a cold/flu and this is not helping me out at all. I’m hoping for the 5 pm bell to ring, and in the mean time and having some hard times here at my desk. I’m just holding on though, because I need to pay the bills, and I think about times where things were worse, and this isn’t the worst thing that could happen.

A hail storm on a roof in Beverly Hills was the worst part of a job back when I was a teen…which was deserved, now that I’m a college grad with skills, I shouldn’t feel this cold, but warmer days are coming.

I could knit you a pair of slippers all cozy and warm like the ones on my blog.

Except, of course, NOT in the ultra-femme colors those are in :) Hang in there–spring has to come sometime.
