After some very disappointing analytics for November. I have decided to just throw away Adsense from the main pages of this site. The front page reading, and writing will have no more ads from google. The numbers for their ads are horrible. With over 300+ site views a day and only a minor 1 click or so for a range of 9 cents to 35 cents, I can’t really make much off that service. So I trashed it over the weekend.
On the other hand, I also trashed my index page, and my whole backend in the webhosting department, which was not the smartest of ideas. So I basically rebuilt my front page with all new graphics, (and an adsense banner, since it receives such low traffic that anyone who visits it will be compelled to leave the site by clicking an ad…or maybe old habits die hard), and it can be viewed here.
Sometimes you lose site of what you’re doing when you’re reading a lot about making money and other things online, and you know what?
This blog, and website was never about making money!
At least that’s not why I started it, or wrote it, and while I did have some posts about my online finances, Video Store Blues was never really suppose to be about that. So pulling adsense from the front page was step one.
Step two however is clouded. So I replaced adsense with ads for my comic book store affiliate. I believe in the medium, and the sales help finance my projects, so it’s not just aimless clicking, you really have to want to get something out of that.
So while I contradict myself above, I still try to keep things “real”.
As far as paid posting is concerned, I will sprinkle those here and there, only to satisfy my goal of inheriting a brighter future, but other than that, I am pulling back the full scale assault of earning money on this blog. It’s just too hard.
Plus, this blog is the lowest trafficked site of mine. I have a lot of them, and this site really has no crossover appeal to anyone. It is about one video store clerk, one man, Jorge Alberto Orduna, and his constant battles with management, video store memories, laments, and the state of Web Development.
So join me once again here everyday for more drudgery from your favorite legal immigrant; Sir Jorge of Culver.

Legal immigrant? Oh shit, now I’m losing interest!
Just kidding…
I’m experimenting with ads too, but so far I have mo luck at all with Adsense. I guess I should put the ads in my readers’ face but I hate that.
yeah, it only works on “high” clicked areas or if you have mountains and mountains of natural traffic.
