Whether you like hip-hop, or simply rock music and stay away from the rhymes and reasons of Mc’s that praise their celebrity and money before they talk about anything else. But for some odd reasons I’ve grown to enjoy the prowess of Mc’s that can relate to things in literature, tech jobs, and the rigors of life that is not represented very much in the anthems of hardcore and punk rock music.
Sure I love hxc, I love punk, and I raise my fist a lot, but when you’re sitting in an office all day, who are you fighting? Sometimes I need something more than just a punk rock anthem to get me going, and today this Common video, although not the greatest video in the world, reached my eyes and ears and got me thinking for a moment. Common has been called a “conscience hip hop artist” and while I question his motives in recent signings to be a spokesman for Cadillac, I like the words used to describe the thoughts of The People in this video. Check it out…his new album is out now, and you can pick it up by clicking here.
