My affair with Mad Magazine became known to all who knew me in the 4th grade and beyond; I brought a Mad Magazine to school and was immediately suspended. While most people found porno magazines in the dumpster by their house, I found a huge lot of mad magazine books. I was just ten years old and would fascinate my imagination with the hilarious writing and off the wall comments of the usual gang of idiots over at mad magazine. From the funny mad magazine covers, to the characters and illustrations, there was something for people of all ages found in the wealth of these books.
Then I grew up.
I somehow misplaced a lot of my mad magazine collection somewhere and then I moved to Seattle, Wa where I didn’t find much time for the magazine humor.
Then this Christmas, wrapped up and waiting for me was a ton of mad magazines and an awesome book! Mad About the ‘90s was waiting for me in my huge stocking and I jumped for joy. The book is not one of those books that you need to sit down and read all day and night, but rather more of a bathroom book or book reserved for long waiting periods before a trip or during a flight. Maybe even for some boredom movements that involve having to sit through some lame commercials on television.
Mad About the 90’s pulls no punches, speaks frankly about the Clinton administration, Oj Simpson, Kurt Cobain, and so much more in such an easy to swallow manner that you’ll think you’re reading the cheap 3.99 issues from the newsstands.
Mad Magazine has been around for a long time, and well, if you are fond of the 90’s or like making fun of the stereotypes, situations, and events that shaped that decade, you’re going to love this book. I know I did. It’s still super cheap, only 9.99 and well worth the price. I got it for Christmas and have plowed through the whole thing, and continue to look at it whenever I have some spare time to kill.
I recommend this book greatly, and the other mad about the decades books from Mad Magazine and the usual band of idiots. Good stuff here…even if you’re not a big fan of the magazine, you’ll find humor and enjoyment on ever page. It’s Mad, it’s cheap, pick it up by clicking here!

Man that is one creepy photo. (But I’ll bet Kurt Cobain would get a kick out of it.)
