I was burning out for a while, closing down blogs and just giving up professional blogging completely. I didn’t know what was wrong with me and I finally just threw in the towel on several sites, and just walked away.
I thought I would never come back, but as of this week , I’m back on and writing on three previously closed down sites.
What changed?
My attitude towards blogging fell apart after all my page rank was gone, and payperpost gave me a bunch of headaches.
In the meantime I worked on consolidating my two dvd review blogs and my love for books into this site you’re reading right now. However, there was still a longing inside of me to talk about what is going on in my life, because I have few friends and I want to vent about random crap, even if no one reads it.
With that in mind I began to just write for no particular reason. I started with my Technology blog and posted some interesting things that I wanted to comment on, and it worked out quite well.
My second site revamping was over at my Sir Jorge Online site which is now more personal and random. I post about whatever comes to mind, but I don’t take it too seriously. It has minimal ads, no major conflicts and just me and my thoughts. It’s the longest running blog I have out right now.
My third revamping occurred at an odd hour of the day. I was having fun at work on some down time looking at some classic comic book covers and decided to just jump back into the fray.
Why did I come back if I was citing that I was burning out before? Why did I close down the sites to begin with?
Simply put; I was focusing on making money with those sites through all sorts of means and checking the numbers daily, trying to build up reputation and all sorts of things. What I realized in the process what that I had lost my love for blogging.
I genuinely love to write and blog. I would do it if I didn’t get paid, but when I was focusing on the dollar value of each post and trying to sell things online, I failed to make it a joy and turned it into a job. I already have a full time job, and while I like to think that someday I can be a professional blogger, I don’t want to stress myself out while doing it.
So instead of forcing my posts and writing daily on those three revamped blogs, I’m taking it easy, and just posting whenever I feel like it. No pressure, no number checking, no stats pulling, just doing it for the joy of doing it.
I admit though, I do have a few banner ads and ppc campaigns on them, but if they garner me no major riches, I won’t really sweat it.
So I’m back to my blogging prowess, and still am one of the internets most prolific bloggers, but I am not sweating it or lurking for cash.
I’m back to truly enjoying blogging. Follow me through this journey, or just stick around on this site for more of the same.

I found your site on technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. Looking forward to reading more from you.

I have always read your blog because I like you as a person and I enjoy hearing about your daily life. Your best posts (at least in my opinion) are the ones where you talk about the mundane and you’re not thinking about how to make money or writing script for an ad. I can understand why you do that but that’s not why I read you. Delve a bit more into YOU and I think you’ll gain more readers than you’ve ever expected. Just my 3 cents (I pay more than 2 now to the people I really like)

Glad to hear about this positive attitude! I can tell you like to write and share your ideas, don’t worry about Google PR or Internet $$$ too much, you will get some kind of reward sooner or later.
Good luck!

When you turn something you love into a way to make money it does start feeling more like a job and becoming less loveable.
Glad to hear you getting back into the “groove”.

Glad to hear you are still with us. I enjoy reading your stuff, even though I am lazy with the commenting. I have realized that blogging won’t make me rich, but I am happy with that. There was a time I counted 12 ads on my blog, but now I am down to 3. I love what I write about, and it’s all about the content now. How long will i do this? As long as I possibly can without it interfering with my personal life.
As long as I love writing about music in movies, I will continue to do so

Interesting post in that I think we all get de-motivated from time to time. Especially when things happen that make our blogging extra work! Nice blog you have here! (Nice layout too, intuitive!) - Cheers!
