This weekend I ventured forth to see The Ruins. It’s the first rated R horror film I’ve seen with no real harsh nudity or sexual situations. Sure there’s a very brief shot of one of the main characters topless, but it was because she was changing, and was nearly off screen.

The movie was slow moving, but the tension grew to an alarming rate, with a third act that is not too unlike anything R.L Stine did in his “Goosebumps” series. From what I hear, the book is far better, but this little horror movie will have me reconsidering a trip to any Mayan Ruins…sooner than later.

Other than that, there’s not a whole lot of news to report on my end. I have a ton of reviews ready to go, but work has really been piling up for me, so to meet the demands of being a manager, of sorts, I’ve been letting this site get on cruise control.

Not that many care, and not that we need another critic in the world. Plus, this isn’t a news site, it doesn’t need twenty updates a day.
