Slow and Steady
I’ve always enjoyed slow days, but not boring days, just slow days. The weeks seem to accelerate when you’re older, and I’m constantly trying to slow things down. It’s not an easy task, but I try to work on it whenever I can.
I finished the Ron Jeremy book i was talking about earlier. I do admit that it wasn’t 100% porn and sex, it was definitely a look into someone’s life and times without glorifying it too much. Sure there are moments when Jeremy makes it sound like he’s had a heck of a time, but there are a lot of lonely moments, saddened times, and overall drudge that makes his world not so enviable anymore.
Maybe when I was 15…but as a 25 year old, I’m most certainly glad I’m not Ron Jeremy.
I’ve been slow on the draw in regards to movies this week. I’m actually going out of town later today, so in anticipation of that, I didn’t watch a lot of films this week. Instead, I read my books, and watched the Seattle Mariners lose game after game, even with a flurry of runs in the later innings. Being a sports fan is rough, when your team isn’t exactly the greatest ever. But I’m sticking by them, I’m sure the Mariners can pull it through, they have hundreds of games to go.
So what did I watch?
I watched a few television shows, none that I will mention here until I finish the seasons to write an appropriate review.
I also worked, yep, just worked. I’m growing uneasy about encapsulating my whole purpose at work to try and sell objects. It’s not a taxing job in a lot of ways, but it is definitely not the most pride inducing positions I’ve ever had. I’m definitely far away from paying off my student loans, that’s for sure.
The updates on here are slower than my skateboarding blog, that’s for sure, and my wrestling blog has picked up a little too. I do in fact go around posting on my horror movie blog, and well…this one is not exactly my prime focus these days. With little communication in the comments, and lack of interest in denoting the details of every single movie and book I read, I am starting to grow tired of the formulaic postings.
Then again…i’m diving into more written word than ever, so maybe I will dish out more reviews…but for the next four days, I’m taking a break from the blogging world…at least a little break. We’ll see how the mini-vacation pans out.
I miss working at the video store, I loved being a clerk.
