Top Punk Rock Songs Volume 1

In yet another new feature, I present to you the top 6 punk rock songs, according to Punkradiocasts top 40 countdown. This one is a week behind, but it’s still somewhat relevant as I can’t get this ready in time…but whatever.

The way those guys compile the top 40 is simple; user votes. Anyone can vote, and weekly, based on those votes they come up with a top 40 and then go live on the internet and play them down. The podcast features the top 5, and to add some more value to it, I’ve added their #6 track to this list. I now present you the top punk rock songs from the punkradiocast top 40 of last week…because I’m behind. I also added some liner notes and where to pick up the cd’s and/or mp3’s if you’re interested in picking up some new music…that’s right..legally obtaining music is still relevant.

Harbour 81 Live Your Dreams

1.Harbour 81
So Much I Can Take
Live Your Dreams

Harbor 81 delivers one of the most solid albums of punk rock that I’ve heard in a long time. It’s not your average mallcore sound, but it’s really well produced and easily one of my favorite new bands in a long time.

You can pick up the CD "live your dreams" in our online store.

The Supervillains

2. The Supervillains
Breakfast on a Mirror
Grow Your Own

Mixing different genres into a solid array of musicianship is hard for a lot of independent artists, it’s nice to see some bands still playing ska music.Although, I don’t like the album cover, the music is top notch.

You can pick upt he CD "grow your own" in our online store or pick up the mp3’s via amazonmp3 (drm free).

Polar Bear Club 3. Polar Bear Club
Another Night In The Rock
Sometimes Things Just Dissapear

The first time I heard these guys, I didn’t really like them. I thought they sounded like too many other bands. However, they have enough of a punch and alternative sound to make them better than most. Think hwm + dropkick murphys.

You can pick up "Sometimes Things Just Dissapear" in our online store.

Ramones Anthology 4. The Ramones
Do You Remember Rock & Roll Radio

The Ramones, classic, timeless, and still relevant. The fact that the fans voted this one into the fourth spot is just amazing to me. I’m so glad that people still enjoy The Ramones music after all these years.

You can pick up The Ramones "Anthology" in our online store
or pick up the mp3 via amazonmp3 (drm free).

The Copyrights Learn The Hardway 5. The Copyrights
She Turns It Up
Learn The Hardway

How did I miss this band? One of the better pop-punk bands playing right now. I think you owe it to yourself to check this band out. She Turns It Up mixes stuff like Lifetime,Mxpx, and Greenday. Just different vocals, not the faux British Accent.

You can pick up The Copyrights "She Turns it Up" in our online store, or pick up the mp3’s via amazonmp3 (drm free)

Mustard Plug Black and White 6. Mustard Plug
Over The Edge
In Black and White

Mustard Plug has been a staple in the ska scene for a long time, and just like Less Than Jake they continue to make punk flavored ska music to this day. Their latest album shows the classic Mustard Plug sound and great fidelity and sound.

You can pick up "In Black and White" in our online store, or pick up the mp3’s via amazonmp3 (drm free).
