It’s been a while since I’ve done the fast movie reviews. I am maintaining quite the load on my other sites that are reviewing genre specific films, and working hard to keep those afloat. I keep getting into major problems with the hosting company over this blog, so I’ve got another domain name, but the content doesn’t rival this site yet. Maybe in a few months I’ll have enough posts to justify the switch, but in the mean time, I present to you…Fast Movie Reviews Horror Edition!

Leprechaun Series - Warwick Davis kept busy after Willow with this series of slasher films that surrounded people finding pots of gold, only to be chased and killed by the little guy. The series can be somewhat offensive, but it did launch the career of a young Jennifer Aniston, and push Ice T and Coolio into some interesting concepts as rappers turned actors. Throughout the series, the Leprechaun went from backyards, to the hood (twice) and to space, all while slashing through anyone that got in the way of himself and his gold. Each time, someone bamboozled him into turning to stone, but not before the deathtoll rose with interesting sequences of spills and thrills.

Sleepaway Camp Series - Sleepaway Camp is a cult classic series of nightmare summer camps. The first film is by far the most interesting, even though it’s the one with the least amount of gore. THe movie follows a psychotic little girl through adolescents to womanhood, leaving a path of destruction along the way. This movie is a quite interesting set of slasher flicks, served with a side of comedy, one liners and the sister of The Boss…oh yeah. These movies aren’t exactly very serious, but then again, not a lot of horror movies are. These films go from good, to bad, to worse, but still has something for even the most harsh of critics.

Friday the 13th Series - The series of films that brought us Jason Voorhees and his psycho mother. Actually, it was in reverse that this happened, but still, quite the journey through a ton of films. The movie had a lot of bodies hitting the floor, meanwhile an unstoppable killer keeps coming back no matter what you do. The best part of these films is that they preached, although oddly, abstinence in a way. Anyone caught having sex in these films, were immediately slaughtered with a machete. Although, some of the plots are completely stupid, the majority of the films go down smooth with not a lot of filler. This series is a classic, and is well worth it.

A Nightmare on Elm Street Series - What’s this? A full set of dreamy movies? Ok, so these aren’t exactly positive dreams, but they are dreamy none the less. These movies follow simple plots, and take you through a journey through Wes Craven and Robert Englunds money making tag team of horror. THe movies start with a great film, creating some scary atmosphere and adding Johnny Depp to spice things up. However great the first one might have been, it fails to recapture the glory until about the fourth installment, and those of us that enjoyed growing up gettings scared remember these movies with such great admiration. Although, these films haven’t aged well, they are still interesting enough to own. I highly recommend this set.

The Omen Series - No one liked kids in the 70’s. The movies of the 70’s had a lot of unfortunate events occur in regards to children. The Omen created a set of horror films around devil children. The movies created atmosphere with above average acting in the first two films, and introduced us to Dr. Grant in the third film. (No, it wasn’t really Dr. Grant, but if you look, you’ll see a familiar face ready to bring hell to earth) The fourth film wasn’t all that great, but had enough creepy moments to solidify this work as a serious contender for horror glory.
