The Crucible by Arthur Miller Review

The Crucible is an amazing piece of art. When I first read this book, I didn’t understand it. I was in high school and was being forced to read some play, and it just wasn’t sitting well with me at the time. I really had to think about the content, and not just read the words.

The play falls into 4 acts, and these acts are slow cooked and come to a powder keg of explosive narrative in the end. I seriously was moved with this play, and can see how it crosses political strands from half a century ago. This book is amazing. It’s short, it’s sweet, it is a work of amazing detail and narrative.

Even if you read this in high school, read it again, there is so much emotion, poetry, and greatness. It nearly brought me to tears, the evocative narrative of lies gone awry. This book should be in everyone’s library. It is amazing, and holds true today, as it did long ago. The Crucible by Arthur Miller is one of the best things I’ve ever read in my life.
