The Dark Knight Sucks

Everyone online has been raving about The Dark Knight. I’ll address my thoughts about the movie:

Heath Ledger is great as the joker. Not perfect, he has a lot of brains and a little fight, but in the comics version he’s more brutal and disregarding. He doesn’t just throw a wrench into situations, he kills and he maims and he is harsher than a pg-13 would allow. He was good though, and the best so far.

Two Face is great, but only his face? I don’t think so! The comics are different, and show him as more than just someone that has a problem with duality. Sure he does, but it’s not roses and in this film he doesn’t provide the punch that he does in the comics. It’s good though, don’t get me wrong.

The back story in this film feels so real. It could be possible, but of course it’s not, and Batman is interjected to crash the realism aspect.

It’s dark. But not THAT dark.

Reality is much much worse at times, and yes…the dark knight is dark, yes the comic is dark, but this film had a lot of situations that aren’t that dark. NO, not the lighting situation, but the themes.

Scarecrow is brushed aside? NO! In The Long Halloween, he isn’t brushed off, in fact one of the best sequences is him on his horse in a two page wallpaper scene. Scarecrow is not dead, just in Arkham Asylum, and you know what? No one stays there forever, and it becomes a very real and escapable place.

Batman is good, not great.

If you aren’t a graphic novel reader, you can sink your teeth into this film. However, if you’re not a FAN of comics you’ll think this film is too long. In fact, a lot of women told their guys were talking about how long it was, and how boring spots got.

I’m a comic fan, but I also love story telling and this film does a good job in telling a distinct story.

However, so did “We Own The Night” in very similar style too, without the need of a caped crusader.

This film was good, great even! It is the best Batman film, but is it that hard? This is a good one, and it sets the standard high for comic book movies. It was better than Iron Man, better than Hulk and one of the best films out this year.

There’s a lot of questions raised in this film, and while I liked it, I think it leaves too many loose strings for my tastes. It also didn’t raise a brow for a third…or did it? I liked it. I nearly loved it.

The Joker has some beautiful scenes, I’ll tell you that much, true beauty, without sound…just a portrait of great cinema.

Check this movie out. I got into a screening that wasn’t sold out, and it was nice. The rest of the days shows were completely sold out, so this movie will do great.

This is a good movie, I recommend it, however I think that non fans will find it troublesome to watch at times. It’s a heavy handed, socially aware, commentary on todays society. This one is going to be hard to forget.

I highly doubt that they are going to try and bring the joker character for another round, and two face? doubtful, so what not? I’m not quite sure.

I hope it’s The Riddler, Scarecrow, or maybe Ra’s Al Ghul (since he can’t die).

Oh and I’m sorry for the title, I figured it would draw some attention. Did Dark Knight really suck? Na…it was good.

I think it’s probably good for someone who is not a fan. that’s usually the way it goes. You are more critical when you feel passionatley about a film

Well, that’s too bad because I thought it did suck. I didnt like it that much at all. Hmm. I guess I’m the only one on this planet that didn’t think it was brilliant.

i didn’t believe it was brilliant, but it was definitely not bad. In fact, I watch upwards into 20 movies a week, and even though it’s a long one, it’s actually good.

I agree that Scarecrow was brushed aside and batman wasn’t excellent. Other than that, I think your crazier than Ledger was. The movie was great. Comparing it to the comics is a bit ridiculous because there have been many takes on Batman. The TV show was different than the cartoon, the first round of movies is different from this new round, and the comics don’t compare to any of them. It’s like saying Blade 1 was a bad movie because it didn’t hold true to the original Dracula, or the new Bond movie was terrible because Bond ordered his martini stirred, not shaken.

Regarding your comment about fans of the comic, you make a valid point. I am an Archie fan so I have nothing to compare this to. As well, I am female (last I checked) and I did find the movie boring at times. I do not agree that this movie is better than Iron Man; I think Iron Man blows doors on this one. BUT - Heath Ledger is the best Joker on film to date; and this installment is also the best Batman on film to date. All in all, I was still disappointed.

    I don’t know the comic so…

I did find the movie a bit too long, the story was dragging at the end. The Joker was really good but Batman was so so (I don’t like the actor anyway).

    It’s dark… I have seen darker, agreed.

I also thought The Dark Knight Sucked. It was way too long, one could not help but keep checking the watch to see how much more till you get out of the theater. The distorted voice Batman was using when he was wearing his rubber costume was comical. Female character was absolutely impossible and to me - any movie with Christian Bale in it is doomed to suck. And The Dark Knight did.

The Dark Knight did seem to go on a little bit longer than I wanted it too, but when I was seeing it, it was 2 o’clock in the morning so that could’ve had something to do with it.

whoever said this was a movie for people with a long attention span in dead wrong. Its the opposite. The movie was designed for people with severe ADD. It was more episodic than most movies with one climax scene following the next. Everytime the plot stalled, they just put a bomb somewhere else and led up to another climax. Seriously, that happened 5 or 6 times. This forced us, as the viewer, to get jaded with the climaxes so the final climax was weak and unsatisfying. maybe it made interesting points and was dark, but it failed at storytelling, the point of movies. ok spectacle, horrible movie.

the more i think about it, the more i think that the director and writers took a lot of liberties from my beloved comic books.

    oh well.

as a stand alone film, it’s not so bad, and i liked it for what it was.

By arguing with myself over its contents, i’m going to ruin the experience.

It was good, but other movies do suck, and I’ll keep posting those films…which i’m currently writing reviews for them.

to be honest, im not a big fan of batman himself, i thinks hes just a rich guy with way too much free time that can afford any gadget to get the upper hand to make things incredibly unfair. and alot of the parts seemed kind of boring.. even with two-face. but every scene with the joker was brilliant. im not overexagerating when i say that heath ledger did the best acting job ive seen and he nailed the joker brilliantly.

One of the most over rated movies I have ever seen. It was not brilliant just ok, I didn’t see not a special thing about it, all of the older Batman movies were so much better. The only thing dark about this movie was the voice of batman, what the HELL was that about!!! I’ am sorry but batman’s voice ruined the movie. The joker was by far the best actor of the movie, hurray Heath Ledger. 6/10.

Numerous critics, and over 100 thousand people on IMDB, plus the millions who have gone and seen the movie to make it one of the fastest grossing movies of all time have thought it was an amazing flick.

To not see the depth and true meaning of this film just shows how unintelligent you were if you thought this movie was long or boring or whatever. What were you expecting? Another batman beyond or batman & robin?

Go ahead, flame all you want, but remember that all of you are in an EXTREME MINORITY. This is the movie that all of us will use to as the standard to compare other movies.

    Jesus ya’ll give me headaches.

This movie as a standard??? For what??? It is boring! It is dragging! It is obvious!!! It has zero character development and too much bombs! So, if anyone is telling me/us that were unintelligent that is because we hit the right target! We are telling something that is making them uncomfortable about.

The only good thing about it is The Joker.

Now we know why there is no Batman in the movie title!

Before I saw it I was told that the movie was only entertaining when the Joker was on the screen and the story was boring. I then saw it and thought everything I was told was wrong. The movie is 2hr 20min I believe, not once did I look to see what time it was or thought when is this going to end. I thought the movie was good, better than Batman Begins IMO. I don’t like comic books and am not a fan of super hero movies.
