Batman: Gotham Knight Dvd Review

Not every step in the Batman Franchise is a home run to me. Some things are horrible, and some things suck.

For instance, the toy frenzy over Heath Ledger’s Joker action figure is a little disturbing to me. Kids shouldn’t want to play with a toy that resembles the darkest spot in the Dark Knight film. However, adults are probably to blame for the frenzy over purchasing these toys. That was horrible, I admit, I am reaching too far for a reference there…I suck.

The Batman comic books aside, and focusing only on the dvd that got a lot of hype before the Dark Knight blew open the box office, I find myself bored and tired of all the bat hype.

I love comic books, and enjoy comic book adaptations in animated features, but this one was a misstep in my view. This was a horrible arrangement of cartoons in different styles that were quick and resolved very little. They also told a very fractured story, and does not build any sort of bridge between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, like the advertisers said it did. It doesn’t very little to make anyone want to watch The Dark Knight, and the whole purpose of this seems to be a marketing ploy to get more interest into the already huge fanatical internet response to the film.

Here’s a trailer/video for Batman: Gotham Knight dvd:

I was excited to finally sit down and watch this. But it seriously is not fun to watch. It is really boring, the animation, exaggerated, and frankly; stale. I am a big fan of Anime, but the style that they frame Batman’s story is just ludicrous and takes me back to the unfortunate films that everyone hates. I remember several instances in watching this dvd where I wanted it to end.

A lot of people are big fans of this dvd, but I don’t know why. I might have used a little link bait before, but this time I mean it. Batman: Gotham Knight Sucks. Sorry, it is garbage in comparison to even Batman: The Animated Series…and dare I say, The Batman (new wb series that has the Joker in dread locks).

I think I speak for a lot of people, but I’m sick of hearing and or talking about Batman. Now back to something more important, The Mighty Ducks 2 (D2).
