Tropic Thunder to a lot of people sucked. Yeah, Tropic Thunder sucks, is what I heard from a lot of people. It was a tough one to listen to, but I liked it. I thought it had some initial funny moments, but it wasn’t all comedy. The action was filmed quite well and hearkened back to a better time for action films.

I kid you not, this movie was hilarious initially, relying on a large set up in the beginning of the film. The introduction to the characters was hilarious, and while some comedy was lost with the rest of the film in terms of comedic performances by the main characters was picked up by Matthew McConaughey and Tom Cruise; two guys that I would not bank on putting on great acting spots these days. I once again, kid you not, these two guys put on amazing spots in this film. Tom Cruise might be a little crazy, but as an actor, he put something great in this film. Matthew McConaughey throws together hilarious performance as an agent. He’s not even acting too hard, he’s just amazing in this movie.

Maybe I’m just thrilled about Tropic Thunder because earlier in the same day I saw the movie Mirrors. Maybe compared to Mirrors this movie is head and shoulders better than the rest.

The final scene in this film is worth price of admission. Throughout the film there was a lot of shots at Hollywood, but the ending had a major sock to the face of a lot of us that own a dvr or tivo, and if you saw the trailer, you’ll remember a baby/little kid getting thrown off a bridge…..that’s all I will spoil for you.

Tropic Thunder might suck to some people, but for me, this was a nice topping to my Anniversary weekend….2 years married today.
