Faster Movie Reviews

In light of recent developments, I decided to unleash some more movie reviews that I had in the que for reviews but just haven’t had time to do full ones. So instead of boring you with details, here’s another edition of Fast movie Reviews, including some good, some bad, some sexy…and some horrible and well…just fast. No nonsense reviews, no links, no pictures, just text lots of glorious text:

Good Luck Chuck Dvd – This one was unrated and boy did they take advantage of that. If you ever wanted to see Dane Cook having sex with a lot of women, here’s the closest that you’re going to get. Cook plays a dentist who gets a reputation for sleeping with women, and afterwards the women find their soul mates and get married. He then finds a girl that is super clumsy, and well, stuff happens. Jessica Alba is the worst actress ever, and Dane Cook is NOT funny. This movie had a lot of boobs in it, and a lot of sexual positions that I haven’t seen since I stole a kama sutra book from the library as a teenager. The fat guy is funny, and you see a girl with three breasts, ala Total Recall. This movie sucks, don’t watch it.

Run Ronnie Run Dvd – A local redneck gets his own tv show traveling through the country getting arrested and moves out of the small town and goes to Hollywood. There’s a lot of cameos and there is a great attempt at humor, it just falls on deaf ears as this movie sucks too. David Cross once wrote an open letter to Larry the Cable Guy about how his brand of comedy, then releases this steamy pile of b.s. Cross can be funny, but in this movie he’s not.

Rescue Me Season 1 Dvd – I usually hate Leary’s stand up comedy, but this show about NYFD is awesome. It deals with religion, sex, 911, and all sorts of drama as the show unfolds. This is one of my favorite new shows (new to me) and I’m going to be checking out season 2 sooner than later.

Dexter Season 1 Dvd – Dexter is an intricate character study, and while it took me a while to get into, the show is really a great one, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Seeing one of my favorite actors from Six Feet Under portray a somewhat straighter role is amazing. The whole premise is a little odd, and I have a lot of questions about how you have to suspend belief in what otherwise seems like a serious drama, but I just went with it and enjoyed Season 1.

What Would Jesus Buy - This documentary takes you on tour with activists who go city to city asking people to stop shopping. They focus on the commercialization of Christmas, and in turn show off how bad it has gotten in America. I felt bad watching this, but then again, I am fighting tooth and nail to get out of debt, and my outlook is looking great. Christmas isn’t that big for me, and I don’t overspend, and hate having TOO much crap. So this movie is a nice little reminder that the rest of the world is buying way too much.

Mirrors – You either loved it or you hated it. I was somewhere in between. But I love horror, so I let this one slide, even it it failed to make sense sometimes.
I’m going on vacation now. Yep, I’ll be back sometime next week. In the mean time, why not check out the archives?

Michael Moore Hates America - He sure does. He hates America, and He hates himself. One man goes on a quest to try and talk to him and Michael Moore is highly confrontational, and IS NOT a hero. He also manipulates his films to show how bad things are, instead of showing the whole truth. I hate when people glorify Michael Moore into some sort of great icon in documentary film making, he sucks, his ideas suck, and if you like his films, maybe you suck too! Sorry.

Vantage Point - I didn’t see this one, Netflix sent me a non working dvd, so I just wanted to say that it’s on the way.

Oh and don’t forget about the 1,000 books you won’t read in your life…I spent some time hard linking those. Maybe do some community service by forwarding that link to all your friends.
