In The Land of the Free

In The Land of the free you cannot make pornography that fictionally depicts sexuality that is deemed “inappropriate”.

I’m talking about Max Hardcore getting 4 years in prison for making films that show humiliation and portray actresses as underage.

I don’t believe that in the land of the free, United States, this should happen. If the models are 18 years old and are consciously making a decision to get paid to do these acts, and they KNOW what they are doing and are not coerced into it by force, then I believe there is a right for consumers to view this and for people to produce it, without being sent to prison.

I don’t agree with the notion that these films are good for you, nor do I watch these films myself, however in the U.S people died for freedoms to make these films, and there are laws in place to protect these things, as fought for in courts by the likes of Larry Flynt and others.

I don’t understand. It’s ok to make vile porn, put it on the internet for free, however this guy is going to prison for doing something legally, paying someone to be in the film, and then selling it? I won’t agree with the final product, but I will say it’s a travesty that in America you can be censored like this and be a criminal forever.

Maybe it’s over the line to consider these things, but come on, if you’re of age and you KNOW what you’re getting into and YOU SIGN on to be in these films and later do NOT object to what happens and are compensated for it, I don’t see how the case can hold weight, however Max Hardcore is a prisoner now.

I maybe off base in assuming that if someone has sex on film, is paid for it, and is not crying foul, it is not a criminal act.

Morally not great, but legal, last time I checked.

It’s an upside down world, and you know what? I’m probably not in the majority that thinks this way.

So I’m going to get back to working on more reviews.

Hey man, I’m with you. Prisons are over populated anyway and I really don’t think we need to spend so much time and money on things like this at the moment.

Phew, you’re back online! I couldn’t access your blog earlier, I read through my feed.

The USA sometimes takes extreme positions to defend or condemn the freedom of speech. I tend to agree with you… this doesn’t seem fair from a philosophic point of view.
