I’ve been venturing to the Library way more these days. I live 0.3 miles away from my local branch and I’ve been exploring it more and more recently. There are several reasons why the library is one of the best ways to get media, music, and more.
For those of you that have been following along, even slightly, you’ll know that I stopped subscribing to cable television of any kind. I don’t get any channels, and I don’t really care. I subscribe to netflix’s slowest and smallest package, and I don’t really do much else.
So how do I entertain myself now?
I read a lot. I’ve been checking out books from the library on subjects ranging from sex positions to mechanical problem solving and even calculus. I’ve been reading about everything I’ve always wanted to learn, curious things I’ve seemed to have forgotten, and a lot more.
I have also discovered that the library has an extensive amount of digital media, audiobooks and so much more to explore, and guess what? IT’S ALL FREE!!!!!!!!!
Things in my life have not been going like I’ve planned. I don’t have a good job, I don’t make a lot of money, but one thing is for sure, I’ve never had so much free time to read, and enjoy my tax money at work. I suggest that everyone check out their local library for all the wonderful materials they offer. I even go there to look for jobs, utilizing the newspaper they carry, daily.
I guess this is just a filler post about the greatness of my local library, but considering that no one reads my blogs anymore, that’s fine by me. I am reading more than ever, and am really blessed to be in close proximity to a free media source.
