About Blog X:

Blog X in its simplest form is a web blog that houses music reviews, book reviews, movie reviews, and the occasional personal post from Sir Jorge.

Blog X was created when several niche blogs were absorbed into this one. This site is brutally honest when it comes to reviews. No one is getting paid for reviewing these things, and there are no corporate cover ups, no payola scandals, and no worries of “advertisers” pulling out because I’m too brutal.

Why a blog? Why not a magazine, or something along those lines?

I have written for many zines, magazines, and even ran my own record label at one point. I have found that these sources always come to one thing, and one thing only; MONEY. They are in the pursuit of money and usually censor any opinion that doesn’t fall in line with whatever they are trying to sell, promote, or make money off of.

The prime example of this is magazines and zines that rely on ads to pay the bills. These magazines constantly censor my thoughts and opinions or don’t print them because I am not flattering to certain brands, bands, or offerings from an advertiser. I sympathize with them on one hand, but I refuse to lay down and say a band is good, when I believe they suck.

Same goes with movies, books, and other things that are pimped out by the entertainment industry.

Who is Sir Jorge?

My name is Sir Jorge to all that come to this site and want to know about the things that I write. I’m a writer at heart, although I’m not good with fiction. I tend to write about myself
more often then not, and half of the time it’s in a negative and derogatory fashion. Some don’t like that, some love it, but I enjoy it more than anyone else. I occasionally dabble into fiction, although I leave that up to the masters, and I just write my blog and hope for the best.

I grew up in Los Angeles, California. I’ve lived in a lot of different places, everywhere from Santa Monica, Culver City, Mar Vista, Inglewood, Santa Clarita, and even Downtown Los Angeles. I’ve lived in many ways an above average life for being an immigrant to this country.

My parents wanted me to get the best of what this country offers, and through that I was able to learn literacy and writing, two strengths that are carrying me through my adult years with a little more joy and a lot of great opportunity.

I started my own record company when I was 16 years old and ran that into the ground. But not before getting 3 full length cd’s out to the world, and throwing concerts all over southern california and setting up tours for bands that I haven’t seen in a long time and doubt are even around anymore.

I have lived in sorrow, through pain, and have come out clean. I have seen and heard more than most, and share my stories here on my site.

I speak spanish and english fluently, but I have a hard time writing spanish. I was born in Guanajuato, Mexico and now live in Seattle, Washington.

I’m online way too much for my own good and love God.

I enjoy horror movies, hot dogs, bbq, comic books, reading, writing, professional wrestling, collecting things, and all sorts of other crap.
